We believe that infrastructure is essential for the success of any nation and that countries in Africa need to be given the same opportunity to develop infrastructure as other countries around the world.

 

We specialize in construction projects essential for the African continent, such as Roads, Bridges, Renewable Energy Facilities, Residential, Commercial, Industrial Buildings, and other large-scale projects. With Our expertise and dedication, our mission is to build a better tomorrow for all Africans.

Co-Founder & CEO

Aeon Smith

Aeon is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Africa Infrastructure Investment Partners (AIIP). He is responsible for leading the Strategic Direction and overall performance of the company. Aeon has a strong track record of success in managing large scales projects, driving growth and delivering exceptional results. Prior to co-creating AIIP, Aeon was a United Nations (UN) Official with 29 years of Logistics experience in Field Mission Operations. During Aeon’s tenure at the UN, he worked in Africa for over 16 years. Aeon also formally served as a Police Detective with unparallel leadership qualities. It was the time Aeon spent in Africa that sparked his desire to co-create AIIP.

Kiu Smith

Kiu is the Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer of Africa Infrastructure Investment Partners (AIIP). In his role as Chief Business Officer, Kiu is responsible for leading the company's overall business strategy and ensuring that the organization remains competitive in a constantly evolving marketplace. This includes overseeing business development, marketing and sales, finance, and operations. Under Kiu's leadership, AIIP has achieved significant growth and expanded into new markets, both domestically and internationally. Kiu's focus on innovation and sustainability has also positioned the company as a leader in the industry, with a commitment to delivering projects that are both environmentally responsible and economically sound. Kiu has worked in a variety of different roles across many different industries. Kiu earned a BBA in Marketing from The Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, and also a BS in Airport Management from Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology.

Co-Founder & COO

Andre Smith

Andre is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Africa Infrastructure Investment Partners (AIIP). He is responsible for the management and oversight of AIIP’s project teams, processes and all phases of construction from pre-construction through warranty. He is also actively involved early in project planning and development with clients to maintain consistency between preconstruction services and project delivery. Andre is a savvy business professional with immense passion for optimizing operational processes and efficiencies. He has held an impressive series of leadership roles including General Manager where he has developed a trusted arsenal of knowledge. His experience spans 20 years working in diverse industries including construction, building products, manufacturing, shipping and distribution, customer service, banking and financial services. Andre holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Morgan State University in Baltimore MD, a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Production and Operations from the University of Technology in Jamaica, WI. He is also a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) holder from Villanova University.

Almami Fanding Taal

Mr. Almami Fanding Taal was officially appointed General Counsel for Africa Infrastructure Investment Partners on March 1st, 2024. His responsibilities included the legal, ethics and compliance, internal audit, and risk management functions. He is based in The Gambia, West Africa. Mr. Almami has been a Legal Practitioner with over 20 years' experience in Public law and Private law. Additionally, he was a former Judge of the High Court of The Gambia. He has over 10 years' experience in senior counsel and senior management and executive positions in both the public and private sectors. Mr. Almami recently served as the CEO of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the CEO of the Gambia Divestiture Agency. He was responsible for the privatization of the assets of the Gambia Government; advised ministers and officials in many departments across a range of policy areas from tax to trade, from human rights to private sector facilitation and investment climate. Mr. Almami has also served as Legal Counsel in loan negotiation teams of the Gambian Government with BADEA and the African Development Bank. Almami’s specialties include: Trade and Business law, Public Law, Corporate Governance and Public- Private- Partnership. Legal Education, Human Rights, Legal Aid, Trade and Intellectual Property Laws along with Regulation of Public Utilities
